MP3 Routes: Audioguides to meet Forcarei

The Borough Council of Forcarei gives you the opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful places around the area, in a comfortable and easy way. From here you can access the audioguides to listen to in your player.

Without limits, you choose what to visit, what to meet, where to stop. In a different way, at your pace, we give you the key to meet your destination.

Together with the route, you are going to find support material that will let you easily follow the route. In this webpage you can find the following information:

What's the project "Rutas mp3"?
It's a project born with the objective of fulfilling the new demands of tourists: customised, convenient and faster solutions.

What can be expected from it? What does it involve?
Rutas MP3 project will provide visitors wanting to meet Forcarei with a new high quality innovative tourist offer. It involves tourist audioguides in mp3 file format, that users will be able to download to any MP3 player, be it from this web site or from a computer placed at the Town Hall.

Where does this idea come from?
An MP3 player is a great travel mate, because:

• Its use is quite common and there are millions of units
• They come in a great variety, with different capacities, and also,
• MP3 file format can be played from cell phones to PDAs

This project is leaded by the Borough Council of de Forcarei, together with the constant advice of the Innovation Private Agent, dhuman consultores. The project could be realized thanks to being awarded a grant aid from the Xunta de Galicia, within the program: Concellos dixitais 2008-2009, that also counts with shared financing from the Ministerio de Industria, Turismo e Comercio, the Plan Avanza and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Which are the main features of the product?

• The routes are available in Galician, Spanish and English.
• Through a track system, the tourist can pause, rewind or forward the guide, whenever it's desired, adapting it to their pace.
• The high quality of the contents and the integration of all the routes in the same web site give the project a differentiating character.
• Besides the audio, you also have support information like GPX files, compatible with the most common GPS devices.

What's the mean difficulty of these routes?
The routes are characterised by their ease of access and execution.

Lérez river bridges (PR-G 113)
This route goes along one of the most famous rivers in the province of Pontevedra: Lérez river. With a total length of 13.7 kilometres, during the 4 hours and a half that the route takes you will visit historical places, like Aciveiro Monastery, you will cross bridges full of myths and mistery and above all you will enjoy the natural environment that Lérez river shapes among the hundred-year-old forests. Bridges, water mills, fulling mills, paths are the charms along this route, that will surely not disappoint you.

Natural route Aciveiro-Candán (PR-G 100)
Circular route, 15 kilometres long, starting at Aciveiro Monastery and travelling along the surroundings of a natural preserve: Candán mountain range. During 4 hours and a half, we will walk along the springs of Lérez river, to later on go up the hills of Candán. We will meet the habitat of these harsh lands and also see the attempts of the human being to dominate them through different means.
